  1. 1. The category that I chosen is Understanding Peoples and Cultures. The book that I have chosen is "A Life Like Mine: How Children Live Around the World." This book is illustrated with colored pictures of children around the world and goes in depth about how children are just the same around the world. We all need basic necessities to survive and the book expresses its importance of an education.

    2. The category of biographies that I have chosen was Biographies: The Lives of All Kinds of People. The book that I have chosen is Promises to Keep: How Jackie Robinson Changed America. This biography is told by his daughter and she shares the memories that she possesses of her father. Jackie Robinson was an outstanding athlete that broke the racial barrier in baseball during the civil rights era.

The book I chose in this category is “Girls: A History of Growing Up Female in America”. “This story about growing up female in America is not just one girls story, but many: Native American, colonial, slave, immigrant, pioneer, rich, middle-class, and poor.

    A category I have chosen for biography is Picture Book Biographies. A book I had chosen for this category is “Freedom River”. This book is about an incident in the life of John Parker, an ex-slave who became a successful businessman in Ohio and a conductor of the Underground Railroad.
