  1. 1.) Cinderella is a fairy tale, also a traditional story. It's about Cinderella who is a slave for her step mother and step sisters. On the night of a ball, Cinderella's fairy godmother appears and helps Cinderella with her magic. She gives Cinderella a dress, shoes, and a carriage. Cinderella attends the ball and the prince falls in love with her. In the end, she marries the prince becomes a real princess. Fairy tales all teach lessons about equalities of a character and that character is most likely rewarded in the end like Cinderella was.
2.) One type of folk literature is Fairy tales, which are folk stories that involve the intervention of magic in the plot. Internet site: http://www.redbubble.com/groups/myths-legends-and-fairy-tales

  2. 1. I chose “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs,” it is from German traditional literature but I have seen different versions of the story and all stories have the same or almost the same plots and twists. From hearing the story and watching the movie I can probably recite the whole story from memory.

    2. One type of folk literature that caught my eye was “Ghost Stories.” A person would rather be told personal ghost stories than reading them. I think the real life experiences and facts are what we want to believe in. The site that I have chosen has real life stories and pictures but I believe as teachers we need to control what our students see and hear. So if we were to share a ghost story I would have clear expectations of what can be or can’t be told.

    1. I love the story of “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs." There are many versions. You started that it was a traditional German tale...but what makes it traditional literature?? I bet you could tell the story. Some of these traditional stories are being lost as they aren't being shared with our children! I completely agree with you that ghost stories are just not the same if you don't hear them being told! Great website!

  3. I chose "Beauty and the Beast". It is from French Literature. This story/Disney Movie is one of my many favorites as a child! It is traditional Literature because it was originally published in 1978. Also, this is an old story and consists of songs/music and poems/riddles.

A type of folk literature I chose is "Fairy Tales". Personally I love fairy tales. I believe it allows the mind to expand and exercises your imagination. Fairy tales are stories that involve the intervention of magic in the plot. A website I have came across for fairy tales is : http://www.speakaboos.com/theme/fairy-tales

This website is very neat and fun! also has "printable's" that you can use for children. (:
