1.) The most challenging part of conducting a literature circle may be assigning roles to each or some of the students. Also, timing, as students get into their group and take the time to read the book and do their journals, other groups may be not work as quickly.
2.) My favorite idea to utilize response journals with my students is prompted response journals/ I like the idea of giving my students a prompt to respond to. Providing a number of questions to give to my students to encourage them to pick more than just one.

As an educator I would provide different strategies to keep students on task. Such as a strategy jar or different hand movements to make sure everyone is actively involved in the literature circle.
2. I like all the texts ideas on response journals and would use a combined method to help students write their reactions to stories to check comprehension and keep students on task.
